If you would prefer to stay in an Airbnb or at a different hotel, we recommend looking for properties in Dripping Springs (if you would like to be near the venue) or near Downtown Austin (if you would like to be in the city). Please don't hesitate to reach out to either of us if you have any questions on where to stay!

Once You're Here

There are so many things that make Austin, Texas so special to us. While it's impossible to list everything, we are so excited to share some of our favorite places to eat, drink, and be merry. We hope you're able to experience our Austin if you have time to explore the city!

Town Lake

One of our favorite things to do together is walk along Town Lake, where we talk, people watch, and puppy watch!  If the weather permits, one of the quintessential Austin experiences is paddling down the lake on a kayak or a stand up paddle.

If you work up an appetite, check out Lou's on Barton Springs or Local Foods on 2nd for some delicious sandwiches and salads!

Butler Park Pitch & Putt

Pitch and Putt is one of our favorite places to go with friends. It is a 9-hole, par-3 course, which is super accessible for anyone who doesn't know how to golf (like Char). The course also has a courtyard with yard games, snacks, and drinks. If you're looking for a fun place to go grab a drink and hang with your friends (or kids), this one is it!

We highly recommend you check out the biscuits inside the clubhouse from Little Ola's. These are some of the best biscuits in town.

South Congress

South Congress is home to a lot of iconic Austin things, such as the "i love you so much" sign, The Continental Club, and Big Top Candy Shop.

Our ideal SoCo experience includes exploring the trendy shops on Music Lane, grabbing a coffee at Jo's (or an ice cream at Amy's ice cream), and window shopping along the rest of the street. There are some really unique book shops, gift shops, and candy stores. Maybe you can even stop by Allen's boots for a pair of cowboy boots or Maufrais for a custom cowboy hat. If you stay long enough, you can walk down to the bridge and watch the bats fly!

If you're looking for a place to grab a bite to eat while you're there, we highly recommend Homeslice Pizza (for delicious NY style pizza), Joann's Fine Foods (get the Hashbrown Nachos!!), and Perlas (where you can't go wrong with some oysters and a burger).
